Edge Real Estate Property Investments tasked us with the design of warehouse and distribution space within an underused, existing car park.
The proposal was split into two buildings comprising of two units and four units respectively; for flexibility and to maximise the development potential of the site.
Full planning consent was granted for the 19,400 sq. ft. of warehouse/ distribution space within the existing car park, despite the layout being considerably constrained by existing utility locations, an existing Right of Way to a substation at the rear of the site, in addition to demise car parking and service access for an existing gymnasium.
We proposed a simple material palette with robust detailing to provide a modern external appearance that aimed to create a coherent, high-quality development. Landscape, cycle parking provision, electric vehicle charge points, lighting, crime and security measures, waste management and recycling facilities were incorporated into the proposal to deliver an easily managed and maintained development with future needs considered from the outset.
