We were appointed by The Heaton Group to redesign and deliver a 16 storey residential development comprising 174 apartments, providing 64 one-bedroom apartments and 110 two-bedroom apartments.
Originally designed by another architect, we worked closely with the client to significantly improve the efficiency of the building. We introduced a number of communal facilities to provide greater amenity for the residents, including a ground floor reception lounge, coffee shop and three communal roof terraces at levels 12, 13 and 14.
As lead designer, and to meet the client’s BIM requirements, we collaborated with the design team throughout the technical design stage to ensure a fully-coordinated design was achieved, producing information from our Revit model.
Communication was key, and during construction we remained an integral part of the delivery team working side by side with the construction team and the sub-contractors to guarantee the most cost-effective solutions were provided whilst still maintaining the necessary quality, which the Local Planning Authority cited as an improvement to the original scheme.
